NorthC Datacenters to expand in Netherlands and Germany

NorthC, a provider of regional data centre services in the Benelux and DACH region, is set to expand its European operations further in 2025 and 2026. With these expansions, NorthC is striving to meet the growing demand for sustainable and reliable IT infrastructure and data centre capacity. By establishing new data centres in Frankfurt and Berlin, NorthC is further implementing its ambitious international growth strategy.

These strategic developments underline NorthC’s commitment to drive the digital transformation for European businesses and government organisations. The new facility planned for Frankfurt will be the company’s second data centre in this key economic hub. Phase 1 will see the development of 1.5 MW of IT load, with capacity expected to scale up to a maximum of 10.5 MW in the coming years. Its first data centre in Frankfurt will commence operations with an IT load capacity of 3 MW.

In addition to Frankfurt’s two new data centres, NorthC is entering the fast-growing Berlin market by redeveloping an existing building into a data centre. The Berlin facility will launch with an initial IT load capacity of 3 MW with a growth potential to 8 MW.

The increasing demand for colocation and connectivity services drives NorthC’s expansion into new markets and regions. At the same time, NorthC remains deeply committed to sustainability, investing significantly in green energy solutions such as hydrogen-powered emergency systems and innovative reuse of residual heat.

“The growing digitisation of business processes and government services across Europe is fuelling a rising demand for reliable, scalable, and sustainable data centre capacity,” says Alexandra Schless, CEO of NorthC Datacenters. “These new locations are an important milestone in our growth strategy. With a network of over 20 data centres across Europe, we are well-positioned to serve our customers regionally, working closely with various IT partners and network providers.”

In addition to the new locations, NorthC will expand the capacity of its existing data centres in Munich and Nuremberg, Germany, in 2025. In the Netherlands, an additional 11 MW of IT load capacity will be made available next year across its data centres in Almere, Rotterdam, Aalsmeer, and Eindhoven to meet the increasing demand for high-quality IT infrastructure in these key regions.

These expansions represent a significant step in NorthC’s mission to deliver leading regional data centre solutions across Europe. Underpinned by a strong commitment to sustainability and connectivity, this growth strategy further solidifies NorthC’s position as one of Europe’s most progressive data centre companies.
